Sports Massage: an application of various soft tissue and manual therapy techniques designed for soft tissue injuries. This may include massage therapy, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, deep tissue, and other modalities. Clinical tissue therapy can be effective in treating many conditions, such as: low back pain, whiplash, myofascial pain, sprains, strains, sciatica, post injury or surgical rehabilitation, tendonitis, and other tendon injuries, repetitive strain injuries, carpal tunnel syndrome, headaches, edema and other ailments. The goal of sports massage is to decrease pain, improve range of motion, and restore normal function to the soft tissues of the body.
Sports Massage Add-On's: during your medical massage infrared light therapy can be added for additional pain relief. For insurance billing, this needs to be approved by your healthcare provider who is approving medical massage as part of your care.
